GOVERNORSHIP OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
SIR HUBERT RANCE APPOINTED
It is announced by the Secretary of State for the Colonies,
Mr. A. Creech Jones, that His Majesty The King has been pleased to approve the
appointment of Major-General Sir Hubert Elvin Rance, G.C.M.G., G.B.R., C.D.,
Chairman of the Standing Closer Association Committee in the West Indies and
British Co-Chairman of the Caribbean Commission, as Governor and Commander-in-`
Chief of Trinidad and Tobago, in succession to Sir John Shaw, K.C.M. Those
impending retirement was announced on August 24.
